The park was beautiful. Neat, clean and just the occasional empty bottles and cups lying around because of one or two irresponsible people. Other than that, there were quite a number of people living the healthy lifestyle.

We wasted no time trying to catch the morning light, but the sun played hide and seek throughout the morning. This was one of the first few RM388 Portraits Promotion sessions.

The park was filled with people from all walks of life. Most of them came with their kids… and some with their doggies.

It was indeed a challenge to frame the subject and the background without the crowd.

but we managed anyways. Most of them were courteous enough to move out of the way or wait for us to click. Thanks guys

When the sun become a little bit too overwhelming to stay out in the park, we moved indoors. A quick of change of clothes later, we were back in action!

It was a quick and fun photoshoot. It was still morning when the photoshoot concluded, so to end the photoshoot…

.. a nice hearty breakfast…

.. and a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

What a great Sunday morning! Met up with two wonderful people, one of whom is Jason’s long lost colleague, while the other is someone from my kampung! Talk about coincidence! Plus, we had a nice morning walk around the park (while photoshooting) and finally a nice healthy breakfast. And we were back home before the morning was over!

Ahhh… all Sunday mornings should be like this

Oh.. and if you are worried that you are not a model or anything like that, not to worry…

.. we will share some some basic poses with you Not theory, but hands on! If you feel weird posing, dun worry, we will pose WITH you. At least you would not feel weird alone

We stopped by McDonald’s to have a nice hearty breakfast. We would not be able to have anything else until lunch.

And it was still dark out when we continued our journey up north.

And when light came, the skies got a little gloomy. Which is a good thing actually. Not too hot. We at FingerOnShutter do not like the heat. hahaha. We prefer the cold.

After the long straight comfortable road of the highway, we ventured into the narrower and with much more twists and turn roads up to Cameron Highlands.

Finally after about.. erm.. i am not sure actually.. but about 3-4 hours later, we arrived at the exclusive hotel. Very nice actually. And the nice cool weather makes sure that we do not have to wring our face towels……

.. like this. It was one of the most comfortable shoots ever for us. Remember, we love the cold. The colder the better

He is an avid photographer as well. He was rather busy with his camera that day.

No photos please. Interesting t-shirt. Fortunately what he wears does not relate directly to how he thinks. He’s not very camera shy.

Somehow I like the effect of this photo. 24mm @ f1.8 gives a unique and interesting view and bokeh.

The hotel had plenty of place for us to hang out while waiting for the bride to get ready.

Then it was time to get down and serious and proceed with the photoshoot.

Hmmm.. I wonder what these two are trying to do.

We continued our photoshoot to one of the tea plantations. That’s Jason at the top of the hill.

After the whole day of driving and photoshooting, we decided to call it a day and proceeded up to the top of the hill.

6666 feet above sea level.

Oh.. sorry. We forgot that we had this for our quick lunch. Actually we wanted to have something big. But due to time constraints, we decided to have something quick, but nice.

We proceeded to head to the night market to pick up some vegetables, corns and other stuff not usually or readily available in KL. On the way…

We encountered this very long queue of cars, which was about 1-2km long queueing up to the night market. This is crazy! But it was not that bad. We reached the night market about 10-15 minutes later. What was worse was the parking. Oh… my. Our lucky stars must be shining upon us that moment as a car was just reversing out of a park as we were passing by. *phew*

We stayed the night.

It was kind of a cosy place. This photo was taken early the next morning. Nice sun, cooling weather. Ahhh…. bliss.

After a nice hearty breakfast, we packed, and continued photoshooting the bride and groom.

Had  nice little quick lunch at Mary Brown and a little web surfing, and we were  headed back to KL!

It was a fun trip. A successful photoshoot. And a refreshing break from the city. We are currently working on some of the photos from the photoshoot. We will be uploading them very soon. So check back often ok?

That weekend, we headed to Cyberjaya; the city hailed to be the Information Technology hub. Wanting to have a colourful theme to the photoshoot, we first headed to a park where there’s a nice colourful playground and we worked our magic.

One of the more important aspect in photographer is the angle.

Angles can make or break a great photo. So it’s important that you find that angle.

Even if it means that you have to get down to a compromising position.

Of course you can take photos standing up ‘normally’ like this. But where’s the fun in that?

So we tried many different positions. There were 3 of us that day. I really do hope that none of us have the same angle and composition. That would be boring ain’t it?

This seems fun!

This is a good position I guess. Same direction, different angle. Let’s see how the photos turn out in the next blog entry.

Oh.. by the way, it was rather hot and humid that day. I was sweating like a I was in a sauna.

Hmm… I think Jason got too much sun exposure.

Besides angles… you have to check if there’s other distracting objects, or in this case, people, in the frame.

The infamous pangsai stance. Very stable. Very good for shooting with telephoto lenses.

Apparently it’s quite good for chimping as well

That day, somehow there were more mosquitoes around than I remembered. Good thing Ian brought some mozzie repellent.

Somehow, there are somethings women just does better than men…

You see.. somehow… something is just not right when men does it.

And then he went on to demonstrate what kind of pose he wanted. Sometimes we find that demonstrating the pose is easier than instructing the model how to pose. It’s gives a better visual reference. Plus.. leading by example is the best.. no?

Then the shoot starts..

Nicole is a very .. erm… alert model? Anytime you point your camera at her.. she’s ready!! Even when taking a break…

Anyways, our shoot continues and .. if a photoshoot is all about photoshoot, it gets a bit monotonous. Hence the need for some.. erm.. wackiness.

It was quite a hot day. And we were getting really  hot and tired. And hungry. We wrapped up when Nicole showed us this face of hers…

So.. we packed up and off we went for some McDonalds.

Where are the results of the photoshoot? It’s coming. Patience ya. We had our hands full for the past week. It should be ready soon. This weekend we are off to the highlands for a pre-wedding shoot. So probably sometime next week we will upload the photos … of Nicole.

This is Ian.. with the camera which he would be replacing very soon with something he has been salivating over ever since he tried one out. More on that when he finally gets one.

The day started off with everyone arriving at location with 5 minutes of each other. Not bad considering how deeply rooted we are on ‘Malaysian-timing’. Nicole went to work immediately on her make up..

The rest of us? …

We were a bit restless and kan cheong. So we started to photograph her making up

Both sets also we kancheong take the photos.

Our theme for that shoot was black and white. Well, we based it loosely on black and white.

And a little bit of creative lighting to add some drama to the photos.

Of course most of the time, I was on available light. I do not know how the photos come out yet. Jason probably had completed processing his set of photos. I have yet to get started. He has a very good reason to have completed his processing. That is another blog entry. We shall wait while he compiles photos and put into words about his new toy soon.
